The Buzzcocks last treated us to some new tunes with the hook-laden Flat-Pack Philosophy back in 2006. But as Exclaim reports, there will indeed be another set of new material coming from the seminal English punk outfit later this year.
Like a handful of bands before them (Luscious Jackson, Ours), Buzzcocks are asking fans to rally around ’em via the crowdsourcing group, PledgeMusic. There, folks who pre-order the currently untitled album will receive some cool exclusive content such as videos from the studio, interviews, and bonus tracks. Also up for grabs? Some lucky fans who pony up the cash could get a signed CD or vinyl, a VIP meet and greet with the blokes or possibly Pete Shelley’s very own Eastwood Starway guitar.
Plus, a portion of the money collected will go toward the English charity Teenage Cancer Trust, as the Buzzcocks would like “to help them continue the incredible work they do.” Way to pay it forward, guys!
For some classic Buzzcocks, enjoy “Ever Fallen In Love” from the band’s jaunty 1978 “Top of the Pops” performance.
