Orchard Hell Building Slapped with Stop Work Order Thanks to Falling Debris Onto Ludlow

With a decade of constant headaches and aggravation under its collective waistband, 180 Orchard Street isn’t called the Hell Building for nothing. The monstrous 22ish-story structure, imminently to become the latest in the Hotel Indigo franchise, again lived up to its name earlier this week, nearly injuring someone in the process.
We’ll explain.
According to DOB records, a five-foot long 4×3 piece of lumber fell from the construction site and damaged a car parked on Ludlow Street. The rear window was shattered, but it appears that no one was hurt. Complaints were called in, and inspectors awarded 180 Orchard with a full stop-work order. Yes, yet another for this blight of a project.
