Stanton Pizza Rebranded as ‘Square Pizza’ & Expands to Clinton Street

We experienced a near meltdown last week while en route to Stanton Pizza. The parlor was closed for a paint job and some basic remodeling (you know, swapping the cliche gangster movie posters). Easily the best slice on the Lower East Side, we feared the worst. However, the new face inside assured us that the ownership did not change.
In fact, the brief hiatus was due to a rebranding effort. The pizza parlor is henceforth known as Square Pizza; new menus inside also confirm the change. But that’s not all. The Square crew also opened a location at 201 Clinton Street, previously the two-year home of Cowboy Pizza. Dominant red signage now holds court mid-block.
East Broadway Pizza around the corner from there is also part of the family.
