It’s not really called the Thompson LES anymore
Back in July, we reported on the fancy shmancy new illuminated signage at the Thompson LES hotel. The Pomeranc clan had waited a full five years before officially branding the hotel for public eyes. Ironically enough, one month later, the brothers sold their remaining ownership in the Thompson brand to the joint-venture they helped create – Commune Hotels and Resorts. Their remaining hospitality holdings, including the trendy eighteen-story lodge at 190 Allen Street, folded into the recently-forged company called Sixty Hotels.
And as of a couple weeks ago, the aforementioned glowing letters are no longer part of the building. Instead, it’s the address number “190” that’s affixed to the facade. No mention of Sixty Hotels anywhere, both in the real world or on the interwebs.
