For roughly five years, 139 Norfolk Street was the domain of Grand Opening, an experimental space that housed some truly funky installations. The storefront showroom included interactive pop-up events like ping pong, a wedding chapel, a fashion runway, and even a drive-in movie experience. But it ceased operations last year.
Now a new gallery is taking the reins, and under the auspices of Lance Goldsmith (Goldsmith Fine Art) and Lisa Kunik (formerly of Max Lang). Junior Projects will inaugurate the space on March 8 with a group show called “It’s a Poor Craftsman Who Blames his Tools.” Artist participating are Megan Cotts, Randy Moore, and Ezra Tessler. Opening is from 6-8pm.
