New York City Neighborhoods In Chains

City in Chains by Pennarello
British designer James Campbell Taylor just created an interesting, albeit unsurprising visual of commercial New York. City In Chains is the latest imagery to come out of his self-established graphic design firm, Pennarello. It enslaves various neighborhoods of New York in corporate crests, for purposes of depicting over-saturation – at least, that’s what we gather. A clever campaign, save for the fact that the Lower East Side isn’t overrun with Gaps.
Pennarello has some other niche graphics that are worth checking out, too, including a love letter from Manhattan to Brooklyn, and a lyrical display of the timeless “New York, New York,” as translated by the MTA.
