Lucky’s Famous Burgers Wants You to Properly Pronounce ‘Houston’

Looks like Lucky’s Famous Burgers finally found an artist to help sell burgers at 147 East Houston (i.e. “Houstanize” the premises). Sometime within the last week, the grease pit unveiled a mini mural on its exterior that essentially acts as a linguistics lesson for those uninitiated city folk.
The message is somewhat passive aggressive, ensuring customers properly pronounce our beloved downtown thoroughfare – “It’s Lucky’s ‘Howstin.'”
But the self-proclaimed “famous” burger joint is likely on the outs. Earlier this month, EV Grieve unearthed a real estate listing via Massey Knakal hawking the space for rent. Asking price is $10,600 in rent, plus $240,000 in key money.
