Orchard Hell Building Reveals Fancy Brick Facade

Now fully erect at 23 stories, the decade-in-the-making Orchard Hell Building is exposing itself in another fashion. By stripping down to its skinny bricks. No more fishnets for this Lower East Side player. Hotel Indigo means business.
We ambled past the shadowcasting hulk the other day and noticed that a large section of the completed Orchard Street facade is now visible. The masonry and black cornice together grab a page from the Ludlow Hotel at its back, matching the pre-war architectural stylings of its tenement neighors.
But then the eyesore of a setback happens…
