Rag & Bone Taps Joe Hill for 3D Mural on Elizabeth Street Wall

After a brief wheat-paste flirtation with its own advertising, Rag & Bone has instead returned to murals at its East Houston store. It’s a canvas anew. This time around, the fancy-shmancy boutique tapped the talent of artist Joe Hill to create a 3D anamorphic street painting on the Elizabeth wall. The result is an eye-grabbing foray into mindfuck territory.
The mural portrays a faux gateway into a decrepit old house, with the lines of the real world continued near perfectly into the artist’s alternate reality. Just try not to walk into the wall here.
Rag & Bone has outdone itself with the Joe Hill selection. The distinction of best mural thus far is now, in our eyes, a tie between this latest and the David Bowie mosaic painted last summer by Erik den Breejan.
