‘Morgenstern’s’ to Start Serving Ice Cream on Rivington Street Next Week

That new ice cream shop we told you about on Rivington Street (aka 215 Bowery) now has an identity. An eponymous one, at that. The establishment is dubbed Morgenstern’s after its creator Nick Morgenstern, the Goat Town principal who most recently opened El Rey on Stanton.
Most of the ice cream equipment is now in place, but it’ll still be another week before service starts. At least according to some onsite chatter. That’s a revised opening from the initial May 8 intel we previously reported.
Morgenstern’s represents another entrant in the crowded class of upscale ice creameries around the neighborhood. To name a few: OddFellows, Van Leeuwen, Davey’s, Sundaes and Cones, Handsome Dan’s, and Big Gay Ice Cream.
