Another domino is falling as a result of the nascent transformation of Attorney Street from commercial to residential. As expected, the brick-box warehouse situated at number 155 will soon meet the wrecking ball. Demolition permits were filed with the DOB yesterday. In its place will be a seven-story (78 feet high), 300,000 square-foot luxury building that houses 37 apartments.
The new development will also house storage space, bicycle parking, and a rec room. Urban architecture firm Studio V is reportedly designing the project.
News first broke about this project in August of 2013, but it’s taken a minute for the permit approval and zoning change. Midtown Equities, which actually acquired Soho House last year, purchased 155 Attorney Street for somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 million.
