Grab the nargila and sheesha, as a new hookah bar is currently under consideration for 279 East Houston Street. The address, previously home to the boutique A Little Wicked, might get wet if the proverbial planets align.
Ownership behind the poorly-rated Scarab Hookah Lounge in the East Village wants something similar at 279 East Houston. Application materials delivered to Community Board 3 reveal the identity of the wooer as Zu Zu Lounge. They want a full liquor license in a space certified for 74 heads, and will include “Middle Eastern light fare.” It’s the usual, and we know what to expect.
Zu Zu Lounge appears before the SLA subcommittee on May 12.
