Marshal Seizes the ‘Fried Chicken House’ Knockoff at 108 Delancey

To be honest, when the Fried Chicken House bowed at 108 Delancey Street back in February, we thought it some sort of joke. Popeye’s had closed a couple weeks earlier, and its entire branding was scrubbed from the facade. Then, in walks this cartoonish, lookalike fast food joint.
So, our question was answered yesterday. Fried Chicken house lasted a mere four months before giving up the ghost. It had been on the outs for weeks, though. Doors were often locked, even though workers were shuffling about behind the counter.
The City Marshal stopped by this week and seized the restaurant on behalf of the landlord. Knockoff chicken plucked.
Popeye’s first opened here at 108 Delancey back in 2008, taking the place of the KFC/Taco Bell combo. For a minute, though, this location was rumored as the maiden Lower East Side location for H&M.

This is a seedy stretch of Delancey. Wonder what will open here and remain successful.
