Yesterday afternoon was the fourteenth installment of the Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival, held at the gates of the Eldridge Street Synagogue. As in years past, this melting pot of a block was briefly transformed for a day of multicultural programming, with the usual entertainment. The alter-cockers played Mahjong outside, traditional music provided soundtrack, crafts were sold, and a Jewish scribe wrote Hebrew names in brilliant calligraphy.
