Green Gate Cleaner Offers ‘Organic’ Dry Cleaning for Upper Orchard Street

Barely a month after Synchronicity departed 179 Orchard Street, its replacement has arrived. The anointed newcomer is an upscale, “organic” laundry/dry cleaner called Green Gate Cleaner. Opening transpired last week. Neons are aglow.
The storefront – no stranger to vacancy the last few years – is pretty much a white box space with a countertop. A quick once-over revealed that there are no cleaning appliances onsite. But there is a token rod with shirts hanging in plastic. Drop-off only, it seems.
So, in case the run-of-the-mill laundromat isn’t good enough, Green Gate is now here. Just expect to shoulder the “organic” tax upon payment.
