Volang Boutique Shutters After 4-Year Tenure on Orchard Street

A few weeks shy of its fourth anniversary on the Lower East Side, women’s boutique, Volang, packed up and left. We passed 147 Orchard Street yesterday afternoon to find the store a ghost town. There are no updates via social media or website announcement, and the phone line is “not accepting calls at this time.”
Add this location to the growing list of vacancies north of Delancey.
If you can believe it, 147 Orchard was previously occupied by Guitar Man. Their business relocated to 116 East Seventh Street in 2009, but foundered a short time later.
Volang was founded in 2002 by Estonian-born Kristel Delevante. Their maiden headquarters was in Brooklyn before jumping the East River.
