A big budget production is set to hijack the ‘hood this week. Seth Rogen’s new Christmas comedy, tentatively entitled Xmas, will occupy a large swath of Lower East Side territory south of the Delancey for the next few days. Requisite notices (“The Untitled Xmas Eve Project) were posted last week from Allen over to Essex and down to Canal. It’s a massive filming zone, and one sure to irk neighbors this week.
Xmas is written and directed by Jonathan Levine, and stars Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Lizzy Caplan, and Anthony Mackie.
The film focuses on three childhood friends who reunite in New York City to uphold their annual tradition of partying on Christmas Eve. Further plot details beyond that premise are scant at best.
