It’s a sad day of purgatory for local gamers. All signs point to game over for Two Bit’s Retro Arcade at 153 Essex Street, but nothing is yet confirmed. Instead we’re left with a room full of cabinets and a window to tease.
Roughly one week ago, the establishment closed with a handwritten note on the door informing patrons that the arcade is closed for “maintenance.” We called the establishment, but the phone line is “temporarily not in service,” according to the operator.
Regardless of whether the cessation is temporary, it’s safe to say something is definitely afoot at 153 Essex. And this wouldn’t be the first such closure, either. The same thing happened back in April, but Two Bit’s prevailed. Let’s see what happens this time…
Two Bit’s Retro Arcade opened on Essex Street in December 2012.
