Móle suspiciously closed for “renovations” early this summer, and did not reopen. Two months on, a local dynasty of sorts has just invaded 205 Allen Street. Vivi Bubble Tea is opening its fourteenth outpost here at the corner of East Houston. The announcement was taped in the window yesterday evening.
Their menu includes milk teas, flavored teas, slushies, Yakult drinks, ice jelly teas, and specialty drinks (ingredients are apparently imported from Taiwan). Snacks such as popcorn chicken and takoyaki are also offered.
Vivi Bubble Tea began on Bayard Street in 2007 and has since amassed an impressive number of franchise locations throughout the Five Boroughs. There are four within the confines of the Lower East Side and Chinatown alone.
Do you think it’ll survive here?
