Remember Agent McNulty from The Wire? Well, it’s quite possible that he’ll be in Little Italy today filming scenes for a new Showtime series called The Affair. The standard “no parking” signs currently dot the neighborhood for the shooting activities.
The new program stars Dominic West, Joshua Jackson, and Maura Tierney.
The New York Times recently published about the show, dedicating loads of lettering to the plot and its presentation. Below is all you need to know:
It tells of the illicit romance between a married Montauk waitress, played by the British actress Ruth Wilson, and an equally married schoolteacher from brownstone Brooklyn, played by her countryman Dominic West, best known for his role as Jimmy McNulty on “The Wire.”
Adding to the drama, the show, which focuses on their time apart and their time together, is told in flashbacks that they recount separately to an investigator who is examining some crime, as yet unrevealed.
The Affair airs on Showtime October 12.
