Interpol Filmed Its Latest Music Video for ‘My Desire’ at Fontana’s

Interpol grew up on the Lower East Side over a decade ago, graduating in the same class as rockers like The Strokes, Longwave, Ambulance LTD, and Stellastar. The dearly departed Luna Lounge was an early stage and proving ground.
… So it’s nice to see the 2014 iteration of the foursome paying tribute to the neighborhood that nurtured its gloomy maturation. Its new music video for “My Desire,” the third single from fifth LP El Pintor, was shot entirely inside Fontana’s on Eldridge Street. The videography does a good job of making the dive bar seem like a cathedral.
The video is a dream-like sequence. We see Polaroid photos come to life as an unnamed man sifts through a collection prints. The video was directed by Markus Lundqvist and stars actor Frank Grillo.
