Protestors on Allen St., Photo: PS
Traffic around downtown was terrible last night. Snarled not so much by those fleeing for Thanksgiving but the Michael Brown/Ferguson solidarity protests that snaked through the streets. People are friggin’ pissed about the lack of an indictment for police officer Darren Wilson.

One band of protestors marched down the FDR and meandered through the streets of the Lower East Side. Delancey Street, for instance, was pretty much a parking lot, with eastbound traffic at a standstill. The thousands were followed closely by cops of both the uniform and plainclothes variety. We didn’t witness any violence; everything seemed rather orderly from our perspective.
