Birchbox is Opening Men’s Pop-Up on the Bowery Tonight

Brown window dressing had been in place ever since Tokyobike ditched 1 Prince Street earlier this fall. That wasn’t a surprise, as the upscale bicycle brand was only in it for the short run. Just a couple months of dormancy, and now the cornershop on the Bowery (owned by Bari Restaurant Equipment) is ready for retail again.
The latest entrant at 1 Prince, like Tokyobike, is of the pop-up variety and will last roughly one month. Popular beauty subscription service Birchbox is opening a temporary outpost here for its men’s division. Official launch is tonight at 5pm with the requisite kickoff party; it’ll stay open through December 28.
Birchbox was founded by Harvard Business School graduates Katia Beauchamp and Hayley Barna in 2010. The service sends subscribers a monthly box of four or five samples of beauty samples.
