Ralph Lauren’s Double RL on Prince Street is on the Outs

Not even the big fish can swim in the predatory waters of Nolita anymore. Looks like Ralph Lauren’s Double RL may soon succumb to the very climate it helped create. Its long-running store at the corner of Mott and Prince is seemingly on the outs. Two leasing signs affixed to its facade announce the news to the community that the retail is for rent.
It’s been a lengthy tenure for the vintage imprint, which specializes in rustic choices like denim, worn leather, and heavy-duty flannel. Double RL – channeling the vibe of an old West trading post – debuted in Nolita September 2001.
A valuable location is now up for grabs via Veracity Real Estate. No listing is available yet, though.
The clothing line takes its name from Ralph Lauren’s ranch in Telluride, Colorado. Both “R’s” stand for Ralph and his wife Ricky.
