This weekend, West Grove, PA’s finest, Dr. Dog, brought their Beatles-esque, psychedelic jams to town to start a sold out 4×4 residency – four gigs at the Bowery Ballroom and four at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Presumably the show marathon is, in part, an effort to promote the band’s new album Live at Flamingo Hotel (dropping today).

They’ve scored some additional love from Two Boots, the self-proclaimed “NYC Pizza Pioneers since 1987.” With some clever integrated marketing, the speciality slice slingers have created a dedicated pie dubbed “The Dr. Dog – Jackie Wants Her Own Pie.” It’s a play off the song, “Jackie Wants a Black Eye,” but hopefully the eats won’t be as tragic as the tune. It’s a top-sauce pie with spinach, roasted garlic, provolone, mozz and parm.

If you have a penchant for ticket stubs, flash one of your Dr. Dog residency ones at any Two Boots in Manhattan or Brooklyn, order the band-inspired pizza, and you’ll get 20% off. The offer is only good for the duration of the shows.
