Netflix and Hulu Are Both Filming New Series on the Lower East Side Today

Two heavy hitter digital content services are filming on opposite ends of the Lower East Side today. Both Netflix and Hulu are in the area today to shoot scenes for their original programming.
First, the Netflix show AKA Jessica Jones is on the Bowery and points west. This show is operating under the guise of working title “Violet.” As for plot, it’s a Marvel Comics story about a woman who rebuilds her personal life as a detective in New York City “after a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint.” Krysten Ritter plays the title character.
At the same time, Hulu will be headquartered outside the Seward Park Co-op on Grand Street for the new comedy Difficult People. The story of this half-hour comedy – executive producers Amy Poehler and Dave Becky (Louie) – focuses on “best friends living in New York City, with their behavior landing them in awkward situations.”
