Four years into its Lower East Side tenure, Beauty & Essex looks to be expanding out west. To Sin City.
According to a dispatch in the Las Vegas Sun, gossip columnist Robin Leach (yes, that guy) reports that the overrated restaurant will be replicated for its Las Vegas iteration. If all goes to plan, Beauty & Essex will open inside the Cosmopolitan casino complex by the end of 2015. Same deal with the faux pawn shop entry. It’ll join a stable of other high-profile celebrity eateries.
I’m hearing that Tao Group’s New York City Lower East Side restaurant Beauty & Essex will join the Cosmopolitan’s restaurant lineup this fall. Execs are hoping that the restaurant tucked behind an anonymous pawnshop in Manhattan might open for New Year’s but may be pushed out to the first quarter of 2016.
I’m told that Chris [Santos] will fly here ahead of the opening to supervise the kitchen operations, and, yes, there’ll be a pawnshop entranceway before you get to the hit and hot dining venue.
