Adel Atelier Hair Salon Vacates 96 Orchard Street for Midtown

Adel Atelier is moving away from Orchard Street after a successful three-year tenancy. We are told that the salon, which collected various accolades and press mentions, will saddle up at the end of the month. Meaning, later today.
Reason given for the departure is the need for more space. As such, Adel is relocating to Midtown, in a much larger commercial footprint at 238 East 58th Street. Within close proximity to Bloomingdale’s.
This frees up the first-landing digs at 96 Orchard Street for another occupant. If recent history is any indication, another salon will likely open here. Indeed, the last few leases over the past decade-and-change have all been hair related.
French hairstylist Adel Chabbi opened his salon at 96 Orchard in 2013. He’s apparently a beloved character on the block, friendly with the neighbors, etc.
