Rescue workers operating in the Second Avenue explosion site uncovered two bodies in the wreckage this afternoon, according to a report in the New York Times and New York Post.
Two people were missing (and feared dead) after a gas-related explosion detonated in the Sushi Park restaurant at 121 Second Avenue – Nicholas Figueroa, 23, and Moises Ismael Lucon, 27. The tragic incident razed three buildings to rubble and injured twenty-two.
Figueroa had been on a lunch date at Sushi Park and Lucon was a busboy there.
UPDATE: one of the two bodies was positively identified by the family as Nicholas Figueroa. He had graduated from Buffalo State College just three months ago. Identity of the second body has not been confirmed.
