It’s not just the Bowery graffiti wall that received attention this past weekend…
The Little Italy Street Art Project is again crossing the Bowery into the Lower East Side for a larger-than-life mural. This time around they’ve tapped the creative services of street artist Tristan Eaton. And what better place than the wall flanking one of the worst stalled-out eyesores in Hell Square – the beleaguered Allen Street Hotel.
Yes, the industrial cherry picker arrived at the southeast corner of Allen and Rivington Streets on Friday afternoon to aid in the effort. Tristan Eaton began yesterday, and will continue painting through the end of the week; but, for now, we have a basic sketch of the finished product on the west-facing exterior of 79 Rivington. “Big City of Dreams” is monstrous, rising some four stories in height and incorporating tenement windows into the design.
The LISA Project previously commissioned murals by Hanksy, Shepard Fairey, Logan Hicks, and Connor Harrington.
