Tristan Eaton’s 4-Story Mural Mysteriously Vanishes from Allen Street

That four-story Tristan Eaton mural above Allen Street – a co-branded effort with Guess commissioned by the Little Italy Street Art Project – mysteriously vanished overnight Tuesday. The ad-art, dubbed “Big City of Dreams,” was still in progress when, all of a sudden, the entire facade received a fresh coat of paint. Overwritten. However, outline of the piece is still visible.
What’s rather suspicious is that the whole ordeal (i.e. photo chronicling) is essentially expunged from social media. Plus, the LISA Project is uncharacteristically mum on the matter. We’ve since reached out to the project organizer for more info and are awaiting response.
Our best guess is that the mural wasn’t cleared with the appropriate parties. Or perhaps it’s related to Misrahi now pimping the 79 Rivington storefront…
