‘Forever’ Finally Finished with Stanton Street; Yoga Teddy Bear on the Way

At long last, the reign of Forever on the eastern front of Stanton Street is concluded. No more filming at the Smart Clothes Gallery at 154 Stanton, which was transformed into Abe’s Antiques. The production caused numerous headaches for locals during its nine-month takeover, shooting scenes on a near-weekly basis. That iconic Louis Zuflacht ghost lettering finally resurfaced last weekend after the faux signage was deposed.
In its place comes a pop-up shop called Yoga Teddy Bear, a workshop aimed at teaching the discipline to youth. The company engages children through a series of coloring books that feature “a variety of animals and objects ranging from Downward Dog to Plow to Half Lord of the Fishes Pose.” The temporary installation will have entertainment onsite, including free yoga lessons, coloring pages, and mats. It begins May 9 and continues through May 25.
The removal of Abe’s Antiques from the landscape could be a sign that the ABC series is canceled. All the industry rags are claiming this will happen, considering its abysmal ratings. We’ll see if it returns anew.
