Longtime gallerist Nicole Klagsbrun is stepping outside the Chelsea orbit to dip toes into the Lower East Side gallery scene. The longtime gallerist, who operates a showroom on West 26th Street, just launched a pop-up installation at 291 Grand Street. Beside the open-air Chinese markets in a corner building perennialy seeking pop-ups.
Rather fittingly, the pop-up show is with Wild Style street art icon Lee Quiñones. The untitled exhibit features work spanning his whole career, but focuses more on drawings, his “first love.” You can catch the show at 291 Grand through June 7.
It’s also worth repeating that Quinones was recently tapped by the Hotel Indigo on Orchard Street to become their so-called “artist in residence.”
