Giselle Moves Down the Block to the Old Lea’s Dress Shop Space

With Lea’s Dress Shop out of the picture, a familiar face has just taken up residence at 125 Orchard Street. Giselle from up the block.
The store had undergone a winter of renovations, and only now emerging for its due. Indeed, this latest iteration of Giselle is now operational. Awning was installed within the last week. The choice of location makes sense, too, as the proprietor also owns 125 Orchard.
Meanwhile, that recent tall sign attached to the building facade continues to pimp Lea’s Dress Shop. Operational since 1970, this discount retailer offered bargains on women’s apparel (dresses, coats, sportswear). Owner Eugene Gluck closed the garment store at the end of 2014, citing upward real estate pressures and competition from online outlets.
