The Experimental Cocktail Club was seemingly just that. A three-year experiment. The upscale drinking den will soon conclude its three-year engagement at 191 Chrystie Street this month. Neighbors shouldn’t get too comfortable, as a replacement is already waiting in the wings.
Requisite handbills announcing the liquor license application for Community Board 3 are now stapled to various street furniture nearby. Get ready for Et Al. According to application materials submitted to the city on Tuesday, the Experimental Cocktail Club is selling its assets. The incoming nightclub is the latest project by Damion Luaiye, the creative director at the Gramercy Park Hotel.

Et Al will be a nineteen-table establishment that hopes to serve full liquor until 4am daily; one L-shaped bar with fifteen stools. Food offered is of the “light” variety. They’ll also host “occasional, impromptu acoustic performances” once a month, with all events promoted in-house. Full liquor is sought, naturally.
Here’s an early look at the sample menu.
