Modern-day tattooing was basically born on the Bowery, its indelible imprint a constant. We’ve been through that history lesson already. But to see the art form play out on the neighboring streets is just perfect. Getting to the point, this.
Everything about the short clip posted below is great. Boogie reader Local BB sends along footage of a pop-up tattoo parlor in Sara D. Roosevelt Park. In other words, an open-air ink job – one lucky recipient, a light pole for power, and brick wall for bed. Whether the site was sterile is up for debate; however, the tattoo artist was wearing rubber gloves for good measure.
The tipster noted that a lookout was posted as a security measure.
