Woody Allen Just Transformed Eldridge Street for His New Film

Woody Allen has just transformed lower Eldridge Street into his own version of Chinatown. Circa 1930s, judging by the prop cars parked curbside. Storefronts are also masquerading for the day, including a 99-cent shop playing the part of a Chop Suey joint.
It’s all part of his latest feature film – more than 40 in his canon – operating under the working title of “Woody Allen Summer Project.” As reported earlier this morning, the ensemble cast includes appearances by Steve Carell (who replaced Bruce Willis), Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeannie Berlin, The Strain‘s Corey Stoll, Ken Stott Anna Camp, Stephen Kunken, Sari Lennick and Paul Schneider.
