Haute Hippie on Prince Street Looks to be Donezo

Haute Hippie faded without the fanfare of its opening at 9 Prince Street. The store is fully clothed in brown butcher paper to mask the emptiness within; inventory is gone from the shelves. That’s right, the Manhattan-based, oxymoronous fashion line seemingly threw in the towel sometime in the last couple weeks.
Emails to the brand go unanswered, there is no mention of the apparent closure on their various social media pages, nor any answer to phone calls at other city locations.
Haute Hippie unveiled its Prince Street boutique back in January 2012. The store ruffled feathers with the locals almost immediately. Neighbors didn’t take too kindly to the size of the flag affixed to its facade. The signage was replaced rather quickly to quell the choir of complaints.
