Several Lower East Side streets will get a touch-up this week. The milling equipment is out and will soon grind the asphalt in preparation of resurfacing. Rolling schedule begins this week.
Broome, Hester, Jefferson, and Rutgers Streets, among others, will all go under the knife. The roadwork is part of a $17.9 million job (#HW2CR16B) that includes resurfacing work in the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx.
For the eastern end of Broome Street, however, the timing isn’t great. Essex Crossing construction and the daily train of trucks making deliveries will chew up the updated roadbed in no time.
