Local fans of Speedy Romeo, cheer up. Your days of champing at the bit for this pizza are over.
The four-year-old, Brooklyn-based pizza purveyors just crossed the river, and are finally set to unveil their second location tomorrow night. As previously reported, the Lower East Side establishment took over 63 Clinton Street, formerly home to Fatta Cuckoo and Cube 63 sushi.
Upon opening, the Speedy Romeo sequel will offer much the same casual dining experience with wood burning oven and wood fired grill; there will also be meat and seafood. The menu, however, is slightly different due to the new location. For instance, we’re told that there will be a pastrami-topped pizza with help from Katz’s Deli, as well as “Smoking and Non-Smoking-inspired cocktails.”
Restaurant service is purportedly relegated to dinner hours only for the first few weeks, and closed Mondays.
