San Francisco-based startup, Credo Beauty, is headed to the Bowery. The cosmetics company settled at 9 Prince Street for its maiden New York retail effort.
That would explain the activity of late. The vacant store has been papered and primed for a new tenant since last October, when Haute Hippie went out of business. Remodeling is ongoing. This week saw the arrival of a one-story plywood encasement.
Here is Credo’s, well, credo. Just imagine Zoolander saying it…
We are a beauty start-up that believes that safe beauty is essential, not “alternative.”
We believe that looking good and feeling good can co-exist in a world where we do no harm, whether it is to ourselves, our community, to other living creatures or to the world at large. Our goals is to offer you products that are exquisite, effective, modern, and good—in every sense.
Credo Beauty is slated to open at 9 Prince Street on May 11.
