East Side Smoke Shop Opens on Houston Street

Where hookah was previously promised, a smoke shop of another kind just opened.
The former home of A Little Wicked fashion boutique on East Houston Street is now selling bongs, hookahs, pipes, tobacco, and other bodega sundries. (Look in the windows.) Here now is the East Side Smoke Shop, a new dispensary that opened just a few weeks ago.
When A Little Wicked departed 279 East Houston Street in 2013, there were threats of another neighborhood hookah bar. Ownership of the now-shuttered Scarab Hookah Lounge in the East Village wanted to impart the Zu Zu Lounge. Those plans never quite panned out, and the space sat empty for about three years.
