Rat Castle Retail Goes with Rising States Pop-Up on Ludlow Street

The Ludlow Street Rat Castle may have filled its residential ranks, but the retail space remains a vacant white box. Likely the all-too-familiar tactic of warehousing for the highest bidder.
Steven Sutton, the broker who’s repping the space (Sutton Equity LLC), told us back in August that there was “serious interest” in the commercial condo at 179 Ludlow. However, there’s been no change in the ground except for new leasing banners.
In the meantime, though, the 1,650 square-foot space is home to a weeklong pop-up sample sale. Its fashionable boutique neighbor across the street, the Rising States, rented the store for its “warehouse sale.”
It runs through April 24.
