With the New York Primary a day away, Hell Square is getting even more political. Brooklyn-based Kid Super commissioned a new mural showing the three frontrunner candidates for president. Albeit with a twist – through the filter of the Star Wars universe.
Kid Super, the trendy streetwear boutique out of Williamsburg, teamed up with the Wallplay project-slash-agency at 118 Orchard Street for the piece. Installation was Saturday afternoon.
Dubbed “Candidate Wars,” the new artwork is a character mashup that sees Star Wars mix with current presidential politics. There’s Princess Lillary (Leia/Hillary Clinton), Yodie Sanders (Yoda/Bernie Sanders), and Darth Trump (Vader/Donald Trump). It’s interesting to note that Ted Cruz was not invited to the party; possibly maybe it has something to do with our “New York values.”
There’s also the reminder to vote tomorrow.
