If there’s one thing you learn living on the Lower East Side, it’s that random street furniture and discarded items take on ancillary uses. For instance, a staging area for East Houston roadwork becoming a makeshift gym for one local, or skateboarders doing ollies. Here’s a new one, though.
BMXers converting a mulch pile within Sara D. Roosevelt Park into a ramp of sorts for tricks.
Boogie reader Henry Furman sends along this dispatch, and notes this is the first time he’s seen the perennial pile used as such. “It seemed pretty spontaneous. There were a ton of people taking pictures, etc.”
