‘Leftfield’ on Ludlow Street Raided by Cops Last Night

For Leftfield on Ludlow Street, the good times are on hold. The two-store skate bar fell victim last night to a coordinated raid by both the police and fire departments. It was shut down shortly after midnight.
Dozens poured into the street as seen in these photos. One patron who was inside of 87 Ludlow Street said the presence of NYPD and FDNY was huge.
It’s unclear at the moment whether the sting was part of the Giuliani-era program, code-named Multi-Agency Response to Community Hotspots (MARCH), whereby city and state authorities (NYPD, SLA, DOH, DOB, etc.) collaborate to visit establishments with documented complaint history.
We’ll have more as it becomes available.
