There are reports coming out of a multiple shooting on the Lower East Side earlier this morning.

Several readers passed along word (and images) showing that Ridge Street is currently roped off between Rivington and Stanton. It’s an active crime scene. Apparently three people were shot in a possible drug related altercation, with cops calling in a “level 1 mobilization,” according to scanner accounts on Twitter. Condition of the victims and circumstances of the shooting are unclear at the moment.

Update: the Post, which gets the street name wrong, reports that two of the men — 25 and 35 — were shot in their legs. The third, 23, was shot twice — once in the stomach and once in the leg.

The NYPD did not immediately respond to our request for comment. We’ll keep you posted.
