The Abrons Arts Center is hosting a unique exhibit this month.
“ON THE INSIDE” showcases work created by LGBTQ artists who are currently incarcerated. Created by singer and filmmaker Tatiana von Furstenberg, in collaboration with Black and Pink, the art expounds on humanity, identity, and spirituality, and share the stories of those who have been made voiceless by the system.
And if compelled, you can connect with the artists via a transcribing service (they can input text which will reach the artists via snail mail), and can even go as far as arrange to become a long-time pen pal of the artists on site.
The show launched earlier this month and is on display through December 18.
