That new fish & chips joint on Clinton Street now has its identity. Dubbed Simply Hooked, it will offer “sustainable seafood.”

The city issued building permits for the space last month, but the teaser signage didn’t arrive in the windows of 47 Clinton Street until earlier this week. What we do know is that five-table snack shop is apparently the same entity that obtained fast-tracked beer-wine license approval from Community Board 3 back in August (i.e. Cara na Mara). So, there will be booze here.

The Lonely Whale Foundation is involved with the operation, but does not have a formal partnership with the restaurant.

This organization was founded by actor Adrian Grenier in 2015, and seeks to bring people “closer to the world’s oceans through education and awareness, inspiring empathy and action for ocean health and the wellbeing of marine wildlife.”

ICON Realty Management owns 47 Clinton Street, having purchased the property in September 2014, just after unloading the parcels across the street (soon to become condos).
