This past Friday night, a crazy fight broke out near Norfolk and Rivington Streets. And by all accounts, this particular brawl was over-the-top vicious.

We’re told the fight was protracted and fairly bloody. There were reportedly two competing groups of about five people each duking it out. Shirts came off, broken bottles as weapons, belts as whips, the works.

Lower East Side caught the drama as it unfolded (and the video you see below):

One group were a bunch of Caucasian males, apparently from New Jersey who had their party bus parked nearby, and the other group were some local Hispanics. Story is the Caucasians made racially motivated comments about the Hispanic’s immigration status and told them to go home to their own country. Everyone involved was in the age range of about 25-35.

Police were called and arrived shortly after the fisticuffs began. They gave chase on foot. The 7th Precinct tells us that the fight ended with two guys stealing a phone. The two, purportedly caucasians from New Jersey, were later arrested.

Below is a short clip of what happened. More info as it develops.
